programs throughout the year. Please check our calendar for dates and times.

Dances Are usually held monthly for Memorial Students (5th and 6th grade) Strong Students (7th and
8th grade). The dances are well chaperoned by DMYFS staff, board members, parents and high school students. The dances
are from 7:00 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. usually on Fridays. The dances are safe, well lighted and promote a substance-free environment.
The game room is open during all dances; where there is a ping-pong table, pool table, foosball, and air hockey. We also offer
a snack break mid way through the dance where chips, popcorn, soda, water and pizza are sold. The admission cost is $5.00
and $1 per slice of pizza, which is optional.
All Girl Slumber Parties We offer all girl slumber parties during the school
year. Our slumber parties are geared towards the 3rd and 4th grade young lady and the 5th and 6th grade young lady. Slumber
Parties start on a Friday at 6:00 p.m. and go the night until 8:00 a.m. Saturday. During our slumber parties, we do make-up,
hair, crafts, movies, karaoke, and the game room is always open. The girls enjoy pizza, soda, making ice cream sundaes, and
popcorn. In the morning we have doughnuts with juice/milk. Flyer's are always sent home approximately two (2) before the
date of the slumber party. Admission Cost: $20 and includes pizza, snacks, and breakfast.
Family Game Night Is held for all members of the community. Family Game Night was an idea of the center's
Director and the two (2) youth representatives of the Board of Director's. The youth representatives wrote a grant and
submitted it for approval to an outside agency. Once the grant was approved, games were purchased and Family Game Night inaugurated.
At this time, Family Game Night is free. We start at 7:00 p.m. and wrap it up around 9:00 p.m. We are known to go later if
the game action is so intense no one wants to stop. DMYFS sells snacks and beverages; however, families are permitted to bring
their own goodies.
Red
Cross Babysitting Course DMYFS sponsors an American
Red Cross Babysitter's Training Course two (2) times a year (fall and spring). The course teaches young people about the
role and responsibilities of a babysitter, how to respond to an emergency or sudden illness, prevention of accidents, supervision
of children from infancy through school age, and other relevant skills. This course provides practical knowledge while building
confidence, self-esteem, and independence. We post the upcoming training dates here on the website, and in the Town Times.
We also keep a list of all persons going through the course and offer it to parents looking for a babysitter.
